Ingredients for Pretzel Rolo Reindeer Recipe
You only need a few simple ingredients to make your reindeer. Oh, how we love the chewy caramel and crunch pretzels together.
Mini Pretzel Twists – not regular sized ones.
Rolo Candy – standard size.
Candy Eyes – a pair for each reindeer you want to make.
Candy Nose – you can use M&Ms or Sixlets for the reindeer noses. Red or brown candies work. (not everyone can be Rudolph! )
How to Make Pretzel Reindeer with Rolos
- PREHEAT – First, preheat your oven to 250 degrees F and line a baking pan with parchment paper or a Silpat baking mat.
- CUT PRETZELS – Cut your pretzel twist in half down the middle. Some will break in the process, but that’s okay. Then you have some for snacking 🙂
- PLACE PRETZELS ON BAKING SHEET – Next, place whole pretzels with the salted side down on the baking sheet. The rounded edge will be the top.
- UNWRAP ROLOS – Now, unwrap your Rolo candies and place one on each of the pretzels.
- BAKE – Place the candies and pretzels in the oven until the chocolate softens but isn’t totally melted, about 1.5 – 2 minutes. It’s essential to make sure they don’t get too soft!!
- DECORATE – Begin decorating by inserting the antlers (pretzel halves with the broken side facing in) into the top of the Rolo candy. Next, place the candy nose towards the bottom of the Rolo Candy. Finally, place the candy eyes above the nose.
Tip: work fast before the chocolate hardens to decorate your cute little reindeer.
- Finally, Place your Christmas Pretzels in the freezer for 5-10 minutes or refrigerator for 15 – 30 minutes to cool and harden.
How to Store Rolo Pretzel Reindeer
Store your Reindeer Treats in an airtight container for a few days. They don’t tend to freeze well.
