How to Make The Cookie Bars
The recipe is easy as whipping together cookie batter and then topping with fluffy mini marshmallows and candy!
Step 1 – Prep
First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C). Spray your 9×13 inch pan with non-stick cooking spray or line with parchment paper.
Step 2 – Mix Dry Ingredients
Next, in a medium bowl, add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cornstarch, and salt. Stir to combine. Set aside.
Step 3 – Mix Butter and Sugar
Then, mix room temperature butter and sugar with a mixer until light and fluffy. Now, mix in the egg and vanilla and beat until just incorporated.
Don’t over mix.
Step 4 – Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients
After that, slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined. Add one cup of white chocolate chips to the mixture and stir with a spatula.
Step 5 – Place Batter in Pan
Next, press cookie dough into the prepared pan. It may seem like there isn’t enough, but trust me, it fits perfectly.
Step 6 – Bake
Bake cookie dough for 17-22 minutes or until edges are slightly browned, and the middle is starting to set.
Remove from oven and immediately top with marshmallows. Return to the oven and another 1-2 minutes or until marshmallows become puffy.
Take out of the oven and let sit for 1-2 minutes to cool slightly.
Step 7 – Add Candy and Pretzels
Here comes the good part!
Now, add the M&M and other festive candy as well as the 1/4 cup of white chocolate chips, broken pretzels, and pretty sprinkles.
Let cool completely and then cut into squares.
These sugar cookie bars can be made ahead of time for guests and served when ready.
What could be easier than that!
