Why We Love This Recipe
- QUICK & EASY MEAL. one of the easiest ways to get dinner on the table on busy weeknights is by grabbing something from the freezer, like frozen burgers, and topping them with something yummy.
- FLAVOR! This recipe is bursting with the savory flavors of peppers and onions!
Step-By-Step Instructions
Making a Cheesesteak Burger is easy enough for a weeknight or fun enough for get-togethers!
- STEP 1 - Grab your Burgers from the freezer and heat up your grill or cast-iron skillet.
- STEP 2 - Cut your onions and peppers into thin slices. Place in a medium bowl and toss with a little olive oil.
- STEP 3 - Place your frozen burgers in a medium-high preheated pan or grill. Wait until you see juices flow on top to flip it over, and don’t press it down while it's cooking! Once burgers are flipped, cook until internal temperatures reach 160 degrees F. Top with salt and pepper if desired.
When grilling burgers, you want the grill temperature to be around medium-high to high heat, which is around 375 to 400 degrees F.

- STEP 4 - While burgers cook, place peppers and onion in a grill pan on the grill or a cast iron pan on the stove, stirring occasionally. Cook until slightly soft and browned, about 10-15 minutes.
- STEP 5 - Add a slice of provolone cheese to each burger at the last minute of cooking. The oozy cheese really makes this burger! If you’re so inclined, add two slices of aged provolone during the last minute of grilling.
- STEP 6 - Toast buns if you like them that way - we do!
- STEP 7 - To assemble your Cheesesteak Burgers, place burgers with cheese on buns and top them with grilled onions and peppers. Add any other condiments and take a big juicy bite!
Tips & Tricks
- You can make your own burgers with ground beef if you'd like. Chicken or turkey burgers are great too!
