How to Assemble Cookies in a Jar

Follow these layering instructions and you’ll be good to go!

Layer 1:  1/3 cup white sugar

Layer 2:  1/3 cup packed brown sugar

Layer 3:  3/4 cup flour + 1/2 teaspoon baking powder + 1/8 teaspoon salt + pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg (mixed together)

Layer 4:  1 cup old fashion rolled oats

Layer 5:  1 cup dried cranberries

Layer 6:  1 cup white chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips

Ingredients

  • Layer 1:
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • Layer 2
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • Layer 3
  • 3/4 cup flour + 1/2 tsp baking powder + 1/8 tsp salt + pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg (mixed together)
  • Layer 4
  • 1 cup old fashion drolled oats
  • Layer 5
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • Layer 6
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  • In the order listed, layer ingredients in a 1 quart jar.
  • Attach the following instructions to the jar:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl with an electric mixer, combine 1/2 cup softened, unsalted butter, 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  • Add the entire jar of ingredients to the butter mixture.
  • Using a wooden spoon, mix all ingredients until fully incorporated. This may take a little effort, but it will come together.
  • Use a medium cookie scoop to measure and drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on baking sheets for about 2 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

This recipe makes one mason jar. We highly recommend making multiple since you'll have the ingredients out anyway 🙂
